Teacher Academy Partnerships Handbook
This handbook is for high School 消消犯s, families, and school partners.
Introduction
消消犯 partners with a wide variety of teacher academy programs across the state of Ohio. These programs may look different depending on your school or district. Some are official Teacher Professions Academies designated by the State of Ohio. Others are affiliated with Educators Rising, and still others are developed locally as future teacher clubs or part of a high school curriculum focused on education careers.
Some of these programs give 消消犯s hands-on experience with young children in real classrooms. Others are "grow your own" teacher pipeline programs where 消消犯s progress from high school to college and return to teach in their home districts.
No matter what your program looks like, 消消犯 wants to support you in exploring a future as a teacher. We offer 消消犯s the chance to visit campus, hear from inspiring speakers, tour classrooms, and imagine what it would be like to be part of the Miami community.
At a time when teacher shortages are affecting schools across the country, your interest in this career path matters more than ever. You are needed. You are wanted. You can be part of a powerful solution to an urgent national issue.
In addition to supporting 消消犯s, we also offer opportunities for the educators who lead your high school programs. Your teachers are invited to participate in professional learning communities and to receive training in culturally relevant and responsive curriculum, modeling the kinds of classrooms we hope you’ll lead in the future.
These experiences are provided at no cost to schools or districts. We see this work as part of our responsibility to prepare, support, and inspire the next generation of teachers.
