Current Workgroups

Promoting Well-Being During Study Abroad

The workgroup will assess current study abroad programming and resources that support 消消犯 well-being. The assessment will include education and awareness efforts related to mental health, sexual assault, identity and safety, and alcohol and other drug use. It will also examine proactive planning before departure, including support for 消消犯s with pre-existing mental health needs, resilience-building, and the transition back to campus.

Promotion of Employee Assistance Program (E.A.P.)

Miami’s Employee Assistance Program provides valuable support, yet awareness and use could be stronger. Limited visibility, questions about confidentiality, stigma related to mental health, and access challenges may contribute to underuse. The workgroup will examine these factors and recommend data-informed strategies to increase awareness, reduce barriers, and encourage engagement with the program.

Wellness Framework Adaptation

The workgroup will adapt the Surgeon General’s Framework for Workplace Mental Health and Well-Being for Miami’s campus community to create a shared framework for discussing and supporting well-being.

Campus Wellness Assessment

The workgroup will develop a comprehensive wellness audit tool for academic and administrative units. Departments and divisions across campus may use the tool to assess and improve faculty and staff well-being. The audit will provide actionable insights and recommendations to foster a healthier, more supportive work environment.
