¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ

After meeting eligibility requirements, ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs must complete the by the posted deadline. Students will be sent a link to create an account on the Application Portal, where they will provide email information for their high-school counselor and parent/guardian.  High school counselors are sent an automatic request for transcripts and the CCP recommendation. The ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s parent/guardian is sent a link to create their own account on the Application Portal, where they sign the documents required by law. 

Required materials include:

• High school transcript
• High school counselor recommendation
• Test scores (if applicable)
• A parent/guardian email for required signatures
• Additional documentation for private or homeschooled ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs

Deadlines vary by term and ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ type. Typical timelines include:

To be eligible for College Credit Plus, ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs must first submit an Intent to Participate form to their school district by the state-required deadline (April 1 for Summer and Fall term; Nov. 1 for Spring term). This step is required for all CCP ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs, including public, private, and homeschooled ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ does not handle the Intent to Participate form; please talk to your high school counselor or follow instructions on the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce website for and families. 

Requirements

To be eligible for CCP at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ, ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs must meet one of the following:

• A 3.0 cumulative unweighted high school GPA, or
• A 2.75 cumulative unweighted high school GPA and an A or B in a relevant class, or
• Be remediation free based on approved test scores

Additional requirements may apply depending on the program, pathway, or course

Meet State Deadlines

Ohio law sets firm deadlines for CCP participation. Missing a state deadline will delay or prevent enrollment for the intended term. Students and families are responsible for meeting all state, school district, and ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ deadlines. Funding deadlines are April 1 for Summer/Fall and Sept. 1 for Spring only.

Testing

Students can demonstrate college readiness for CCP admission through their high-school GPA, approved placement testing or qualifying standardized test scores. A ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ who meets the GPA requirement for CCP admission does not need to do placement testing for admission. Students who want to take math or foreign language classes will need to take a placement test.

Accepted measures for determining admission through testing may include:

• ACT or SAT scores
• Accuplacer or ALEKS placement tests (Miami will accept Accuplacer scores taken at another institution)

1. Please allow up to 48 hours for us to create a parent account in the Application Portal and send your parent/guardian an email with instructions to log in and sign the forms
2. There will be multiple forms for your parent/guardian to sign — if the system doesn’t let you confirm, check for another required signature
3. After your parent/guardian signs the forms, you will need to log back into the Admission Portal and sign your required form
4. Your counselor will be sent an email with instructions on uploading your transcript — we recommend you let your counselor know you have applied to ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s CCP/ECA program 
5. Periodically log back into the Application Portal for updates and next steps
6. Continue to check your email for updates on your application
7. You may be asked to register for an Accuplacer exam for admission (failure to do so can delay your application)
8. If you have not seen any updates in your Application Portal or received any email updates within 7 business days, please email as at CCP@MiamiOH.edu.

Option A / Option B

College Credit Plus offers two enrollment options:

• Option A: Students earn college credit only and are responsible for tuition, fees and materials/textbooks
• Option B: Students earn both high school and college credit, with tuition, fees and materials/textbooks covered through CCP funding

For nearly all CCP ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs, Option B is the default. Option A should only be selected if you know you will self-pay because you do not have a funding letter. All Miami CCP ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs who attend private schools or are home schooled will be considered Type A until a funding letter is submitted. 

Students should work with their high school counselor to determine the best option based on academic goals and funding eligibility.

Private and Homeschooled Students

Students enrolled in private schools or who are homeschooled have additional steps public school ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs do not have to follow. Public high schools interface on behalf of their ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs with the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce to coordinate CCP funding. Private schools and homeschooling families must apply directly to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce for CCP funding every year, by the April 1 deadline. 

The Ohio Department of Education & Workforce provides  to complete the CCP funding application. 

All parents of private and homeschooled ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs must establish a SAFE Account before they can apply for funding. Parents can create an account anytime between Feb. 1 and April 1 for the following academic year. 

To complete the application for funding, parents will need the acceptance email from Miami (for first-time CCP ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs) or the RSVP email from Miami (for continuing CCP ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈs). Carefully monitor the email address you provided on your CCP application for the first acceptance email. For subsequent years, check your Miami email for the RSVP email.

You will receive your State Funding Letter within your College Credit Plus Funding Application located in your SAFE Account. Once you receive your State Funding Letter, you MUST provide this letter to Miami for billing. Please email your award letter to CCP@MiamiOH.edu as soon as you receive it. 

NOTE: Students who do not submit their award letter to Miami before the term begins will be directly billed by the Bursar.  

If your private or homeschooled ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ is unfunded or under-funded by Ohio Department of Education & Workforce, you can still participate in the CCP Program at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ, but are billed the current tuition rate per credit hour for the campus where the class is taken.
