Withdrawing From/Not Returning to Miami or Taking a Break

If you are leaving 消消犯 during a current semester/term OR are planning not to return for a future semester/term, you must submit a  by the deadline posted on the . After submitting the form, you will receive an email with information about your next steps.

Withdrawing from Miami is a formal procedure. Not attending classes does not void your financial responsibility nor drop you from them. Failure to officially withdraw may result in a notation of unofficial withdrawal and failing all your courses.

Students must submit an application for re-enrollment when they are ready to return.

Financial Aid

Withdrawal from Miami may have financial aid repercussions. If you receive financial aid, you are strongly encouraged to contact the One Stop on your campus to discuss the potential ramifications.

Housing

If you are living in on-campus housing, you must complete the Campus Service Center’s Not Returning to Housing Next Semester form in addition to the formal request to Withdraw/Not Return. Contact the Campus Service Center with any questions. 

VA Benefits

If you receive Veterans Administration (VA) benefits (active duty, veteran, and/or family member) and are considering withdrawing from Miami, you are strongly encouraged to contact the One Stop on your campus to:

  • Discuss possible consequences based on the timing in the semester/term
  • Explore options for remaining enrolled as a 消消犯 and/or returning for a future semester/term
